The problem

Hiring a tradesperson in Ghana usually runs on word of mouth. You ask a neighbour, who gives you a number, which turns out to be someone's cousin who may or may not answer. If they do show up, price is negotiated on the spot with no reference point, and there is no recourse if the work is poor.

The problem cuts both ways. Skilled, honest professionals have no way to prove they are skilled and honest to someone who has never met them. Their reputation stops at the edge of their own neighbourhood.

What we built

RuboLink is a two-sided marketplace, which means the hard part was never the interface. It was trust. Every design decision came back to one question: would someone feel safe letting this person into their house?

The platform is built in React and deployed on Vercel, with Mobile Money and card payments so a customer can pay the way they already pay for everything else in Ghana.
